Express Hair Routine: Co-wash + Blow Dry in 2 Hours!

Co-washing is a highly popular method within the natural hair community. During the summer, when the heat makes us sweat more, or after an intense workout, we often feel the need to cleanse our hair more frequently. That's where co-washing comes to the rescue! This technique allows you to gently cleanse your hair between full shampoo days, preventing dryness and preserving moisture, by using a moisturizing conditioner or hair mask instead of a harsh shampoo.

Co-Wash is also widely used by people with dry hair. Instead of shampoo, they use a conditioner or a mask. You might ask...is it possible to wash your hair with a conditioner! And yes, it is, as it also contains a cleansing base that gently cleanses the hair. This is the No-poo method invented by Lorraine Massey!

Personally, I'm more of a Low-poo advocate, which involves spacing out your shampoos. It's important to let your hair breathe by removing all product residue, and for that, you need a clarifying shampoo.

Here are the co-wash steps:

1 - The day before, I detangled my hair using the leave-in treatment, the "Smoothie Ananas" hair milk from the "les secrets de Loly" range to save time the next day.

3 - I rinse my hair under water, wring it out, and apply my conditioner (or a mask).

Since this summer, I've been using a product from the brand Osannaa, the "Detangling Co-wash", specially formulated for co-washing as its name suggests. Here's its composition: Cotton oil, Marula Seed oil, originating from South Africa, macadamia oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, panthenol, Amino Acids Silk & Phyto keratin to strengthen hair, Aloe Vera juice. A whole bunch of oils that I love to use in my routine, a balanced blend for strengthening the hair fiber and good hydration!

4 - To maintain my hair's hydration, I use a leave-in treatment. I chose the Cocktail Curl Remedy from Les Secrets de Loly (Yes, I really like this brand! I'm not paid for this).

5 - I seal in the moisture with a vegetable butter (or an oil, it's your choice). I opted for the Shea Butter from the Noireônaturel brand. The butter will smooth the cuticles and prevent water evaporation.

6 - Now for styling!
